The most important person in my life

Laura is the most important person in my life. I was going to keep this blog only for my weight loss struggle. The real struggle has been for about ten years gaining weight and now trying to dump it. Anyway, Laura and I have been friends for about twelve years now. We have dated off and on during that time. We lived together for a little over a year. I broke up with her due to a "dark period" in my mood disorder. I have been recently diagnosed as bi-polar. I go to therapy. I take one medication and I feel really great. After two months apart I asked her over for supper Christmas night. I asked her to marry me. The crazy woman said yes! I love her. I'll be moving back to Charlotte, NC @ the end of April. The above picture is me, Laura, and Elvis the wonder dog.

Ok, food wise wasn't the best today. Subway 6" meatball sandwhich, dorts, diet lemonade. Snack: big pretzel and water. Supper: nachos from mexican place near house. I did drink one 8 ounce glass of sweet tea. I drank nine 8 oz. glasses of water today. I really need more than that since I'm 288 lbs. & 6'2".

  • Aww...let's be honest, you just asked me because I took the wonder dog with me! The post is sweet...the meals are not. Structure is the key...plan ahead so you don't find yourself at the mexican place by the house! You can do it.

  • No I didn't.
    I know: bad meals.

  • Much big happy congrats hugs to both of ya!! That's great news.

And listen to the lady about planning ahead.

You need to start eating at home more....you save money and it's easier to eat half way decent. Actually, if you want to eat at home but still eat quick those Lean Cuisine frozen thingies aren't half bad. Used to be all that diet stuff tasted like crap but most of the LC meals taste like "real food". AND eating those helps with portion control too.

I'm a big guy too...6'2" and well, a heck of a lot heavier than you (and losing, thank God)...and I look at the dinners when I'm sticking them in the micro and think "There's no way that's going to satisfy me!" But it almost always does. Especially if I drink a big glass of water or no-sugar-added fruit juice with it.

  • Thanks Kel. I'll have some more posts here this weekend and on the Digital Webbing boards.
I'm drinking lots of water again which is great and filling.
I'll be moving in with Laura in 3 months so the fast food should be cut out 100% by then.
Laura did some freelance work and we have reduced gym memberships which is good. We have a dog so walking him will increase my daily walking by about 100%. lol
